A Skilled Worker visa allows you to come to or stay in the UK or stay in the UK to do an eligible job with an approved employer for upto 3 years.
To qualify for a Skilled Worker visa, you must work for a UK employer that has a sponsors licence, have a ‘certificate of sponsorship’ from your employer with information about the role you’ve been offered in the UK, do a job that’s on the list of eligible occupations, be paid a minimum salary – how much depends on the type of work you do.
There is also a maintenance requirement of £1,270 to be held for 28 days, alternatively your tier A sponsor can certify the maintenance requirement.
This visa can last for up to 5 years before needing to extend it and thereafter you can apply for settlement. This visa also allows you to sponsor and bring your dependents to join you in the UK.
